Some methods have survived because the body understands them. Hirudotherapy is one of them. When things flow better in the body, more can change than we expect. Fatigue. Heavy legs. A feeling of slowness. Subtle signals that we often ignore – until they start to demand our attention.
A method that has survived thousands of years
Hirudotherapy is not a modern fad. It is a method known for thousands of years – according to Radim Kutnohorský from H2 Europe Company, it works on a principle that people already knew in ancient Egypt.
“Hirudotherapy is a method proven by a thousand-year tradition. It is based on the action of the medicinal leech,” explains Radim Kutnohorský.
The principle is simple, although for many people not entirely pleasant to imagine. The leech attaches itself to the skin and releases bioactive substances into the body. These are associated with improved blood circulation, tissue oxygenation, and support for the vascular system.
“When attached, the leech releases substances that affect better blood and tissue oxygenation. This can support the elasticity of blood vessels and a generally healthier circulatory system,” explains Kutnohorský.
Oxygen is the fundamental building block of vitality
Oxygenation of the body sounds like a technical term. In reality, however, it is very human. When tissues receive oxygen and nutrients, they have better conditions for functioning, movement, regeneration, and daily endurance.
However, with age, stress, and less movement, circulation can naturally worsen. The body may not feel weak then. Just sluggish. Legs feel heavy. Energy decreases. Regeneration takes longer.
“The less movement we have, the worse tissue oxygenation can be. And when tissue oxygenation is worse, the vascular and circulatory system can subsequently deteriorate,” says Radim Kutnohorský.

Therefore, according to him, it makes sense to start simply. With movement. Walks. Fresh air. Things the body knows and can use.
Hirudotherapy without leeches
This very idea is followed by HirudoVital – a dietary supplement inspired by the principles of hirudotherapy. It represents a more pleasant and practical approach than the traditional method with medicinal leeches. Its composition combines a blend of enzymes and plant substances, including diosmin, hesperidin, bioflavonoids, rutin, and aescin.
HirudoVital complements a healthy lifestyle and builds on the principle of supporting circulation, the vascular system, and tissue oxygenation. Vitality is not just about energy. It's about having a way to flow where the body needs it.
